+ What are the RNA requirements for a transcriptome sequencing project at CPGR?

Generally, a minimum of 1 µg of total RNA is required for most applications, with an A260/280 ratio of between 1.8 and 2.1, an A260/230 ratio of between 1.8 – 2.2 and a RIN value >8. For more information, download the CPGR RNA Quality Guidelines.

If the RNA from your samples does not meet these criteria, please discuss this with us at the start of your project, as alternative applications may be available.

+ What are the DNA sample requirements?

For metagenomics and amplicon sequencing, 20 µl of 10ng/µl DNA solution is required, with an A260/280 ratio of between 1.8 and 2.0 and an A260/230 ratio of between 1.5 – 2.2.

For whole genome sequencing (small-to-medium sized genomes are currently suitable for genome sequencing at CPGR), 5µg of high molecular weight DNA is required (100ng/µl), with an A260/280 ratio of between 1.7 and 2.0 and an A260/230 ratio of between 1.7 – 2.2.

+ What types of RNA sequencing does CPGR offer?

CPGR offers full transcriptome sequencing, mRNA-sequencing and small RNA sequencing.

For mRNA-sequencing, the most cost effective option at CPGR is to carry out your experiment using sample batches of 8 or 24. Please refer to our mRNA Sequencing brochure for more details.

For full transcriptome and small RNA sequencing, the experimental design of your sequencing project will depend on your organism, the number of samples and the number of reads required per sample.

+ Does CPGR offer whole genome sequencing?

Yes, CPGR currently offers whole genome sequencing for small to medium sized genomes. Costs will be dependent on the genome size, the sequencing coverage required and the number of samples to be sequenced.

+ Does CPGR offer 16S metagenomics sequencing?

Yes, CPGR offers 16S metagenomics sequencing in sample batch sizes of 10, 100 and 200. Download our 16S DNA sequencing brochure for more details.

If you are interested in other metagenomics sequencing options, please contact us.

+ Can CPGR sequence my Illumina-compatible libraries?

Yes, CPGR can sequence Illumina-compatible libraries.

Please see CPGR Sequencing Quality Guidelines for more information.

+ What Quality Management System does CPGR use as its standard?

The CPGR uses a collection of business processes focused on consistently meeting customer requirements and enhancing their satisfaction. ISO 9001:2015 is aligned with the CPGR’s purpose and strategic direction. It is expressed as the organizational goals and aspirations, policies, processes, documented information and resources needed to implement and maintain it. We focus on sustainability issues and assume that other quality problems will be reduced as result of the systematic thinking, transparency, documentation and diagnostic discipline. Our QMS standard is increasingly tied to sustainability and transparency initiatives, as well as to the satisfaction of both our investors and customers.

+ What certifications does CPGR hold?

The CPGR holds an ISO 9001:2015 certificate, which we first acquired in August 2014.
