How to find the Centre for Proteomic & Genomic Research (CPGR): Coming from the airport on the N2 Leave the N2 at the off-ramp signposted for Main Road (after the Liesbeeck Parkway off-ramp). Turn right at the traffic lights into Main road. At the 3rd set of traffic lights turn left into Anziio road (there is a shopping centre on the corner - St. Peters Square). Turn left at the entrance to UCT Department of Health Sciences (just before the traffic circle), you will see a boom gate ahead of you. Register at the entrance (boom gate) with security and inform them that you have a meeting at the CPGR in the IIDMM. Ask them for a visitors parking disc. Proceed down the road and turn right into the parking area. Look out for parking spots clearly marked Visitors. After parking your car, walk back to the main entrance in the cylindrical glass building and register again as a visitor of CPGR. Coming from the city centre on the N2 Leave the N2 at the the off-ramp signed to Groote Schuur Hospital. As the road turns downhill take the right hand lane. Turn right at the traffic lights into Maiin road. At the 2nd set of traffic lights turn right into Anziio road. Turn left at the entrance to UCT Department of Health Sciences (just before the traffic circle), you will see a boom gate ahead of you. Register at the entrance (boom gate) with security and inform them that you have a meeting at the CPGR in the IIDMM. Ask them for a visitors parking disc. Proceed down the road and turn right into the parking area. Look out for parking spots clearly marked Visitors. After parking your car, walk back to the main entrance in the cylindrical glass building and register again as a visitor of CPGR. Coming from Muizenberg on the M3 Continue along the M3 until you have passed the exit for UCT on the left hand side. Move into the right hand lane and take the off-ramp signed N2 – airport. When the off-ramp splits continue straight until you reach a traffic circle, do not turn left to the airport. Turn right at the traffic circle then immediately right again into the entrance to UCT Department of Health Sciences,, you will see a boom gate ahead of you. Register at the entrance (boom gate) with security and inform them that you have a meeting at the CPGR in the IIDMM. Ask them for a visitors parking disc. Proceed down the road and turn right into the parking area. Look out for parking spots clearly marked Visitors. After parking your car, walk back to the main entrance in the cylindrical glass building and register again as a visitor of CPGR.  |
